Designed and forged by Blacksmith Chris at Coach House Forge, each bowl is individually handcrafted using traditional techniques. Through repeated heating and hammering, every piece takes on its own character, ensuring no two bowls are ever exactly alike. The subtle variations in the forging process make each one a distinctive work of art.
Measuring 220mm (8″) in diameter and 70mm (2.5″) in height, this striking centerpiece is crafted from 3mm (1/8″) thick iron sheet and weighs approximately 1kg (2.25 lb). The metal is hand-cut while red hot and carefully shaped before being overlapped and secured with three solid bronze rivets. The hammered rivet heads, approximately 12mm (1/2″) in diameter, add a touch of elegance to the rugged design.
To preserve its beauty, each bowl is treated with multiple coats of Renaissance Wax, enhancing the natural contrast between iron and bronze while providing lasting protection. The base of every bowl is proudly marked with the Coach House Forge touch mark, ensuring its authenticity.
