The 6th Anniversary Large Hammered Bowl

Firstly, each Iron bowl is shaped by repeated heating and hammering using traditional skills and tools. As a result no two will ever be alike, the subtle differences brought about during the forging process. That’s the beauty of handmade work.

3 Bowl sizes are available, this listing is for the largest in this range. It measures 200mm (8″) in diameter and stands 40mm (1.5″) high. The metal is 3mm (1/8th”) thick meaning that the bowl is a heavyweight, tipping the scales at approximately 800g (1 3/4Ib). Making these really substantial items that will last for generations!

Finally the Coach House Forge makers mark is used to ‘signed’ the base of each bowl. The bowl will then be treated with several coats of ‘Renaissance Wax’ which will create an attractive and protective patina. Allowing the real beauty of the steel to shine through.

Used as either a stand alone sculptural centrepiece, or to hold everyday or treasured items , this bowl will serve you well for generations – a family heirloom!

These metal bowls are not food safe and are recommended for indoor use only.

Interestingly, each bowl rings like a bell if tapped on the rim – used to announce dinner time in my house!
